Experimental Research

PharmaCept’s areas of key research focus lie in the field of the loco-regional tumour therapy / chemoembolisation of liver and lung tumours. In cooperation with universities and other research institutions we initiate and support activities in the following research areas:

  • Basic areas of organs’ immunology under the loco-regional tumour therapy concepts of intra-viral microscopy
  • Intra-arterial pharmacokinetics of applied active substances
  • Loco-regional approaches to genetic therapy
  • Tumour vascularization and neoangiogenesis in ischaemias

The basic research is knowledge-intensive and requires a high degree of flexibility. The adaptation of existing techniques to new tasks and the continuous improvement of technologies present the daily challenge to scientific institutions. But even in this environment PharmaCept has successfully gathered first class experiences with various cooperating partners.
One of the main partners was, and still is, the Berlin Medicine University at Charité. It ranks among the largest and most renowned university hospitals in Europe and is an important factor for PharmaCept in the field of scientific projects’ implementation.
Furthermore, last year we succeeded in launching a joint research project together with The Institute for Surgical Research, Phillips University Marburg, from which we are awaiting new therapies for treatment of liver tumours.
